These little “Bananaquits, aka Sugar Junkies” know how to beg. As you can see, they get braver if you’re nice to them . . . and if your boat has no cats or dogs aboard. A couple of years ago, Abaco would just lay very still when they’d fly in and he’d eyeball them as they hopped around. Then, when they’d try to leave by flying out through the doorway, we’d hear a chomp as he snapped at them. He never got one, but other boaters have said their cats are very efficient at grabbing them out of the air inside their cabin.
