Chaco is a "world heritage site" just south of the Colorado-New Mexico border, only an hour & a half from home. It was the hub of the Anasazi (ancestral puebloan) world from 800-1200AD. We've been there many times and have essentially hiked it all. Spring is the perfect time to camp out there; in another month it'll be way too hot until November. Days were 75 degrees, nights were 50.
Most of the pics are around Pueblo Bonita; it was originally 4 stories high. There a couple of good shots looking down on it.
Some of our photos will make nice desktop backgrounds for a change of pace from the ocean. The rock construction is amazing; the land is dry & harsh, but surprisingly beautiful.
