2014 DURANGO'S SUMMER to FLORIDA'S FALL

Around the first of July, we got a visit from sister Martha and husband Shelby. We took them for a little high country jeeping over Engineer Pass to Lake City, including an overnight camping trip to Creede, Colorado.

100F . . . not good in a valley that normally doesn't need airconditioning

No springtime would be complete without a hike at "Chaco Culture Nat'l Monument"

Mt Sopris - this is where I always thought that I'd like to have my ashes scattered, but it's kinda looking like I should probably plan on taking them up there myself; I originally didn't figure that I'd live this long.

No, Autumn, there's NO RUNNING at 13,000 foot elevation; our "Colorado born, high altitude children" don't know any better.

This is how we torture our children in Durango; it's called "mutton busting", but the kids are usually the ones that get busted.

On October 19, 2014, we hooked up "Wet Seasons", our 26ft MacGregor trailerable sailboat, and headed east for Florida using it as our RV camper. We put it up for sale at Indiantown while out in the Bahamas on "Summer Breeze" for the winter.
The first couple of weeks we camped in Caprock State Park and Bastrop State Park in Texas while visiting Brooke in Austin.

On November 9 we arrived at Indiantown Marina and spent the next two weeks cleaning, doing a bottom paint job, celebrating Thanksgiving, and stocking Summer Breeze, before launching and heading east down the St Lucie River on November 25.

Heading south on the ICW for Biscayne Bay to await a Gulf Stream crossing window. (Kids, that's "Monticello" in our Fort Lauderdale Rio Vista neighborhood in the background.
Oh, heck NO, we're not going out there; that's why we wait in Miami for a weather window.
