LUNCH AT DOC FORD'S RUM BAR & GRILLE

Within dinking distance of our boat is the restaurant "Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille". If you've never read a novel by Florida author Randy Wayne White, then you may not be aware that Doc Ford is usually his main character. White writes great Florida West Coast novels, about 30 to date. Most take place right around the area where we've spent the past couple of months . . . Everglades, 10,000 Islands, Captiva. We had lunch in Doc Ford's today while he was hosting a book signing of his latest novel "Deep Shadow". It was a fun event and a great lunch. As I walked up to Randy to get him to sign our book, he says "wow, you look just like me!"
I responded "yep, and you should really have a lookalike contest at your book signings. They have one for Papa Hemingway down in Key West every year; why not you?"
He'll consider it. HA!
