We arrived in Marathon, Boot Key a little before sunset on Feb 17. There was no room in the protected Marathon Harbor mooring field. In fact, there was a waiting list of 30 sailboats, so we had to anchor outside the harbor which offered very little protection from the north wind. We were rewarded by a drop in the winds and a gorgeous sunset view which no one inside the harbor gets. My conch found its voice and was answered by a half dozen more from other boats anchored around us.
