GOODLAND TO NAPLES TO FT MYERS BEACH

On March 7, we left the Calusa Island Marina and skirted the many sandbars heading northward up the Big Marco River, then slipped outside into the Gulf on up to Gordon Pass and Naples. On the 8th, we went back out into the Gulf at sunrise and had a beautiful full day of smooth seas and light winds upon which to sail under full sail along the white beaches, 28 miles northward to Ft Myers Beach. Here we picked up a mooring ball in Matanzas Pass, joining the shrimp boats and other liveaboards, and told them we're going to hang out around here for a month or so. Now we can use this a base of operations and daysails when the weather is good. We hope to have brother John & family and sister Moppie arrive for a couple of nights just next week. Can't wait!
