NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REDWOODS

Well, we've driven 1650 miles one-way to see the Coastal Redwoods, and it has been worth every mile.

Friends don't let friends hug trees . . . they do it for you!

Don't know this family, but they gave scale to these magnificent redwoods.

These pics are in the "Lady Bird Johnson Grove", Redwood Nat'l Park. This was our most awesome redwood hike.

With a stiff neck from so much "looking up", it's time to head southeast for Reno.

Surprised some elk. It's just more fun driving backroads than highways.

We wanted to check out our "luck" so we decided to tent next to an active volcano on the way eastward to Reno . . . "Lassen Volcanic Nat'l Park"
